On Saturday 6 December there is the important AGM, prize giving and End of Season Party. Details.
On Sunday 30 November Di Howley will be manning the BBQ for lunch from 1:00pm and Jean Marracchi will be bringing cakes for the afternoon tea. There are unlikely to be activities on the water because of Yellow Board current warnings. I won't be coming to the club until lunch time UNLESS someone rings 01932 786636 to ask me to come earlier. On Sunday 23 November Members will be at the club even if only to clear up after the Annual Dinner.
And don't forget the bar is open every Wednesday evening right up to 17 December. So turn off the TV and come on down for some conversation, a drink and some of Pete's excellent coffee.

On Sunday 10 August there are many road closures from Kingston, Hampton Court, Molesey, Walton due to the Prudential RideLondon Cycle event; it will be difficult to get from the Surrey side of the river to the Middlesex side.

On Wednesday 25th June there is a Midsummer Madness Cruise at 6.00 p.m. Sail or motor through Sunbury Lock for a meal at the Weir Hotel. Returning before nightfall. Contact Richard Cannon

On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 June all AQSC members are invited to the Hampton SC regatta. Racing at Hampton SC isn’t suitable for novice helm and on Sunday the patrol boat will be at AQSC for those who would like informal sailing and training. HSC regatta details. NOTE: I am not aware of anybody going. All day Sunday is available for showing recent members how to sail.
On Saturday 14 June & Sunday 15 June there is the Aquarius Regatta, Saturday is also a Signet Open Meeting, Racing from 11:30 a.m.

On 26 May, Holiday Monday, it was probably fortunate that the visit to Bewl didn’t take place because it was a horribly wet and cold day and not much wind; it would not have been enjoyable.

On Saturday 10 May from 10:30 there is a working party to prepare the club for the Open Days the following weekend; there will be bacon rolls for those who come early and a late lunch will be provide. Come along with gardening and cleaning tools.
On Saturday 26th April there is “A Taste of Vienna” at 7.00pm. Booking by 16 April is Essential; details
On Sunday 20 April there is the Easter Egg Trophy. Four races, 3 to count for Easter Egg prizes, 11:30 2 short sprint races back to back, 14:00 2 short sprint races back to back, 15:30 Tea and cakes followed by presentation of Easter Eggs prizes. It is important to be in time for the 11:30 start as it won't be delayed for late comers.
Sunday Being the first Sunday in the month Sunday 6 April has a special themed event from 13:30 to 15:00 for newcomers BUT equally applicable to established members. The theme is "Basic Sailing Rules", by Richard Cannon and Nigel Knowles, with particular reference to the RYA Racing Charter which is incorporated in the RYA Racing Rules of Sailing and is applicable to all aspects of club activities.
30 March is the start of the new sailing season with a Spring Series race at 11:30.
On Saturday 22nd March the Start of Season Party will be held at the Aquarius Sailing Club from 7:30pm. Please join us for “Natter & Nibbles” and news on how the club has been managing to stay afloat after the recent floods. There will also be news on upcoming events and some photos for you all to see. VERY big thanks are due to Nigel Knowles, Bryan Clements and Ken Ayres for all the work they put in to keep the clubhouse and boats safe. They worked long hours in extremely difficult conditions to secure the club and club boats for its members, and Aquarius owes them a huge debt of gratitude (and maybe free drinks?!). Aquarius looks forward to welcoming all members to the start of season, and we hope that this year will be a very successful sailing season. So please make the effort and come to the party. SEE YOU THERE!!!

On 16 March conditions were ideal, fine and sunny, for 20 members clearing up after the floods. Linda Wheeler provided an excellent lunch. Don Barnett’s cruiser is parked on the bank. The current is less than I expected it to be; 1.5 kts.
On Sunday 16 March there will be a Working party from 10:30am. Come along with gardening tools and clothes. The floods have deposited a lot of mud around which needs clearing up and boats need to be checked. A late lunch will be provided.

02 March there was far too much current to venture on the river but 23 members enjoyed an excellent lunch organised and prepared at the club by Di Howley, liz Archer and Joan Courtney. Pictures on Google+.
On 2 March there will be the Frostbite Cruise and Lunch, but less the Cruise due to the high current. Come along and enjoy a Sunday at the club with activities. The bar will be open. From 12:30 for 1 pm Di, Joan and Liz will be doing a pub style lunch of Sheppard's pie followed by cheesecake; only £5.00 a head. Don't be disappointed, essential to book your lunch by emailing Richard or 
by Wednesday 26 February. Vegetarians please bring your own food and we will pop it in the oven.
Even if the bank is still flooded there is easy access to the Club by steps from the car park and lights along the fence at the top.

15 February The night of 14/15 was EXTREMELY windy and unfortunately it has blown off much of the roof felt. Five members were at the club all Saturday adding some tarpaulins; more will be done tomorrow, Sunday, from 11:30 if any one can help, pictures.
On Saturday 15th February the Gentlemen of Aquarius invite The Ladies to "A Taste of Vienna" has been POSTPONED at the club; booking essential, details. Cocktails at 7p.m. followed by music, dancing and a Viennese inspired meal. Please book early as places are limited.
On 25 January unfortunately the Burns Night Celebration has been cancelled as access to the club may not be safe. The river level can change rapidly and ingress of water has caused the exterior lighting to fail; it may not be possible to fix it in time. Without lighting, especially if the water level is over the bank, night access to the club can be hazardous.
21 January The current was still around 4 knots but the water was not over the bank and members may like to take the opportunity to check their boats; it is very muddy.
19 January Around 12 members were at the club on Sunday afternoon for chat, tea and cakes; the water depth over the bank was 100 to 150 mm and some members walked by the fence alongside Sunnyside reservoir to access the Club.
14 January The water level at AQSC is still 300mm over the bank AND the outside lights aren’t working making access to the club potentially dangerous; we are sorry that for safety reasons the bar will NOT be open on Wednesday 15 January.
The next management committee meeting scheduled for Monday 6 January 2013 has been postponed until 13 January due to the high water level; it will be held at Eric Bridgewater’s house.
4 January Access to the club is difficult with around 300 to 400 mm of water over the bank. Robert Britton checked the moorings on 4 January and 12 January and said that although many boats are floating they seemed secure and looked OK; the depth of water and 5 knot current makes it dangerous and he recommends members don’t visit the club until the water level falls. 3 January 2014 The weather forecast is for it to continue very wet. The water level at AQSC is over the bank making access to the club potentially dangerous. The water level is unlikely to fall soon so the ativities scheduled for Sunday 5 January have been CANCELLED. Members boats need to be well secured as there are strong winds and in case the water level rises enough for them to float away.
On 1 January 2014 the New years day activities have been CANCELLED because the heavy rain has caused the full length of the Thames to Teddington Lock to have red board strong stream warnings and there is no possibility of sailing in the near future. BUT on Sunday 5 January (Cancelled) there will be activities including the bar open, lunch, tea and cakes between 12:00 and 4:00 pm; please come and join us.
