On Wednesday Evening 21 December there will be seasonal nibbles.

On Sunday 11 December the Cheats Christmas lunch is at 12:30pm; there will also be family games; details.

Saturday 26 November there is the AGM, Prize Giving and End of Season Party at 7.30pm.

On Monday 7 November there is a committee meeting at 19:30.

Wednesdays Sailing has ended. It should have ended on 28 September but there were exiting sailing conditions and there was sailing the next Wednesday.

On Saturday 29 October there is a working party from 10:30 including a late lunch for the workers. Come along with gardening tools and gloves.


On Friday 21 October there is the Club Annual Dinner, booking essential; details.


On Wednesdays there is normally sailing from 15:30. The Bar will open at 19:30 or when sailing stops if earlier. If sailing conditions are bad Please phone Richard on 01932 786636 or 07435 746642 to check there will be sailing. I am looking forward to seeing many boats sailing.

17 September 2016 As we come towards the end of the summer a last DIY BBQ night is planned at the club kicking off at about 7:00pm. Bring the family and whatever BBQ food that floats your boat. The club BBQ will be fired up and the bar and galley will be open. Relax with a drink while you cook your supper and watch the river flow by.

On Monday 12 September there is a committee meeting at 19:30.

On Saturday 3 September members are encouraged to enter the Mid-Thames Trophy inter-club event (Aquarius, Desborough, Hampton, Littleton, and Staines) at Desborough SC. Entry will be free and refreshments will be available. Gates open at 9:30, briefing at 10:30, and the first race is at 11:00; allow plenty of time to rig. Notice Of Race, Poster. Please support this important event to help AQSC regain the Trophy. On Friday Bryan Clements may tow his boat there with the patrol boat; he could tow several boats if any one would like to join him, the mast needs to be down to go under the bridge above Sunbury lock. On Saturday 13 August there is a trip to the Sunbury Regatta Illuminated sail past and fireworks display preceded by a DIY BBQ from 18:00. Bring your own supper or buy burgers and buns, and cook it on the clubs BBQ. The patrol boats will leave the club at 20:15 for the cruise up to Sunbury and will return about 22:30. Book places by entering your name on the form near the bar or ring Richard on 01932 786636.

On Sunday 17 July there is a newcomers event on “Recovering from a capsize”. This is a very importent event and ALL recent members should attend. It has been moved from 3 July.

On Monday 1On Sunday 31 July there are many road closures from Kingston, Hampton Court, Molesey, Walton due to the Prudential RideLondon Cycle event; it will be difficult to get from the Surrey side of the river to the Middlesex side.

1 July there is a committee meeting at 19:30.

On Saturday 9 July there is our annual Hog Roast.  This is definitely a not to be missed event but numbers will be limited so get your bookings in as soon as possible. A dry evening is assured as the whole thing takes place under our marquee. With entertainment, great food and a well-stocked bar, what more could you want; details and booking form.

On Sunday 3 July at 13:30 Mike Hendra will give a short post lunch presentation on the Rules of the River as part of the AQSC skills development program. Like the road the river has a 'Highway Code' that is often not well understood. These rules apply to all river users so they are very important in the operation of the Patrol Boats and sailing boats when they meet other river users. The Racing Rules of Sailing replace the 'Highway Code' only between sailing boats racing.

On Wednesday 22 June there is our traditional Mid Summer Cruise to The Weir Hotel. The plan is to sail or motor up through Sunbury Lock for a meal, returning around dusk to AQSC for a night cap. Members can travel by any means including canoes, row boats, dinghies, power boats or cars; boats leave at 6:00pm. Naturally the most fun is the mix of craft on the river and both our patrol boats, Aquarius and Tern will be going. To book a place in them use the form in the bar or contact Richard Cannon (01932 786636). Note: Anyone planning to come by road should be aware that the Weir Hotel stops taking food orders at 9:00pm.

On Saturday 18 June & Sunday 19 June there is the Aquarius Regatta. This is a great weekend with a mixture of racing and fun events aimed at the kids. A chance for everybody to get out in the boats either as crew during a race or just to paddle around and have fun. On Sunday it ends with a strawberry cream tea. Racing from 11:30 a.m. Details.

On Sunday 5 June at 13:30 Rodger Wheeler will be giving a talk in the newcomer’s series on “Patrol boat handling & rendering assistance". There will be an opportunity for all to have a go helming the patrol boat.

 We encourage everybody to come down to The Club on Sunday. We need people to ‘meet and greet’, man the galley, look after car parking organisation, be out on the water and to take visitors out in the boats and generally answer questions. Last Sunday there were over 54 visitors to the Club. If conditions are suitable there may be fun racing.

On Saturday 7 May at 10:30am there is a work party to spruce the place up for the Open Weekend event. A late lunch will be provided. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

On Saturday 23 April at 19:30 there is Indoor Olympics. Bring our younger members to a fun and games evening with a fish and chips supper option; details.

The Easter Egg Trophy has  been rescheduled to Sunday 3 April (the weather was to bad at Easter). 4 races, 3 to count for the Easter Egg prizes; details. Newcomers are encouraged to come along; at 13:30 there is a short presentation for newcomers on how handicap systems work, basic rules and racing.

On Sunday 27 March the new season racing starts with the Easter Egg Trophy. 4 races, 3 races to count for the Easter Egg prizes. Details

Start Of Season Party This year’s start of season party will be on Saturday 19 March at 7.30pm. (A free buffet supper will be provided). We are fortunate in that Mr Chris Simon, who is a World Sailing International Umpire and has officiated at America’s Cup match racing events, has agreed to come along and give a talk on, and share his experiences of, The America’s Cup. This promises to be a particularly interesting start of season party so come along and help us get the season off to a flying start.

On Sunday March 13 from 10:30 your help is requested at a Working Party to prepare for the new season. There are a large number of jobs, including cleaning & painting the outside of the Clubhouse, cleaning and checking the Club boats, dismantling & storing “winter quarters”, tidying berths etc. etc. We also need some strong people to help lay paving slabs in the trailer park. Many hands make light work..... so even if you can spare only a couple of hours please come. You will be rewarded with a continuous supply of refreshments and a late lunch will be provided to those who stay the course.

On Sunday 6th March at 11:30am there is a Frostbite Cruise. This will be followed by a Lunch at 13:30 that must be booked; details. There will be a quiz, tea and cakes in the afternoon .

 Sunday 7 Febuary At 1:00 The Gentlemen of Aquarius Sailing Club would like to entertain the ladies with a lunch at the Al Forno restaurant in New Malden; details, booking essential.
This replaces the Ladies Day lunch scheduled for February 14.

On Saturday 23rd January we will celebrate Burns Night at 7.30p.m. With a dinner of Cock-a Leekie Soup (veggie), Traditional or Vegetarian Haggis, Tatties and Neeps or Clapshot, some Afters with a Wee Dram. All for only £6 (15 and under £3) pay on the night.
