Sunday 12 December In the light of comments of immunologists on TV on Saturday Aquarius committee decided to move the Christmas Nibbles event from Wednesday 15 to Sunday afternoon. The weather looks suitable for sailing with winds SSW 3-4 gusting 5. Temperatures of 13 to 14 degrees during the afternoon, and a small chance of rain (5% to 10%). This means members should be able to to consume nibbles and mince pies on the quarterdeck; we advise members to bring warm clothing Bar opening from 12:30pm, 2 sprint races at 1pm and 1:30pm, complimentary nibbles from 2:30pm and mince pies at 3pm, both served on the quarterdeck.

Wednesday 15 December Due to Covid moved forward to Sunday 12 December. Aquarius will be getting you into the Chrismas spirit with our Chrismas Nibbles night from 19:00. Rodger will be bringing along a variety of complimentary snacks and mince pies. We hope that you will dress in Christmas attire for the occasion. Please take a lateral flow test on the day and bring a Covid mask, ideally decorated with a Christmas motif, which should be worn when not eating or drinking. 4 December AGM and prize giving at 19:00. The management committee have considered how the government's recent tightening of Covid restrictions should impact the event which is likely to be the largest indoor gathering of members since the pandemic began.  Would all participants please bring masks and wear them except when addressing the meeting or eating/drinking.  In addition would participants with lateral flow tests available please carry out a test during Saturday morning.

10 November and beyond. There will continue to be tea and cakes at 15:00 on Sundays and there will be back to back racing from 13:00 if conditions are suitable. We will need volunteer OODs and patrol boat helms. Please use DutyMan to volunteer for these roles. The club will not be open for winter Wednesday bar nights.

Saturday 30 October Work Party from 10:30 to address a range of outstanding maintenance jobs suitable for all shapes and sizes of member. The day will end with a natter over a simple meal prepared by Deborah Lea; details and jobs

Saturday 2 October Unfortunately Work Party Cancelled due to most jobs outside and a VERY WET weather forecast; it was raining from 12:00 so cancellation was fully justified.

Saturday 11 September Mid Thames Trophy Inter Club Team event at Desborough SC. Aquarius patrol boat will leave towing boats to DSC at 08:30; Rodger 07593 556616. DSC Open 9:30, race briefing at 10.30, first of 3 races 11.00, NOR.

4 July - Open day for members. Another chance to introduce friends and family to the pleasure of escaping the crowds by taking to the water, return visits from prospective members, a few first time visitors taken out in double handers, an opportunity for non boat owners to launch and try out a club boat they have not tried before, kayaking, capsizing and getting thoroughly wet for boys and girls.

28 June Committee meeting 19:30 at the club.

27 June (and 4 July)  - Open days for members. There should be good sailing with ENE wind of 10 mph. The chance to introduce friends and family to the pleasure of escaping the crowds by taking to the water, return visits from prospective members, a few first time visitors taken out in double handers, an opportunity for non boat owners to launch and try out a club boat they have not tried before, kayaking, capsizing and getting thoroughly wet for boys and girls, and cakes, most importantly socially distanced cakes on the quarter deck, courtesy of Jean Maracchi and Di Howley, who have just stepped ladyfully into a cakeless breach.

23 June The Midsummer cruise will go ahead but we will need to restrict numbers per boat and lay on more boats for the trip up to the Weir Hotel, Menu. We might resort to ferrying members across to the towpath to walk to the hotel if necessary. A few members unphased by slow returns in falling light may sail up to the meeting. Boats will leave the Club at 18.00 and will return by 22.00. At the Weir we will be subject to the hotel’s Covid provisions. Please prebook by phoning or texting the secretary on 07917 286595.

04 April Start of racing after relaxing of Covid restrictions. 3 races from 13:30 for the Easter Egg Trophy.

10 February Commodore Quiz at 19.30. John Botterill is holding a light–hearted Zoom based quiz (with multiple choice answers) which should be great fun and also provides an opportunity to catch up with other members. Joining instructions were in the eNewsletter sent on 30 January
