Activities Sunday 28 August, Bank Holiday

The duty team on Sunday will be under the thumb of Ms Jean Maracchi as OOD so girls’ rule for the second week. Anyway she is already slaving over some cake recipes so a positive there.

There is no sailing program for this weekend so we have flexibility about what we can do and we shall do our best to make it fun, especially for our new members, with some sailing and some power boat challenges.

We will prepare something at 11:00, although what happens will depend on the weather and current.

Carol K says we should expect about 24ºC with an east north easterly wind of about 4 mph, but we will get what is on offer.

Perhaps a long cruise, some short racing and some boat handling; both sail and power, with some rescue and recovery so bring a change of clothes and your togs and a towel. A little knot practice might be a good idea so a figure 8 and a bowline might feature.

Lunch on Sunday will be a DIY affair although there are some burgers and pasties (frozen) on offer. The barbeque will be available for those who wish to use it but no formal arrangements have been made.

 Hope to see you Sunday.

 Cheers! Mike H (AOD)
