Aquarius and Tern patrol boats both need some maintenance work.

Aquarius was leaking very badly after attempts to fix it had failed; it needed bailing out twice a day. The prop cage of Tern needed repairing.

Scaffolding was erected on the down stream slipway to mount lifting hoists on.The boats can only be easily pulled out when the water level is about to come over the bank; we can't wait that long. Aquarius was the more urgent and  was taken out first. A seam  was identified as the possible leak; we hope it has been fixed.

Although Aquarius is heavier than Tern it was much easier to lift out because it has robust lifting eyes. There is nothing to attach to on Tern. It still needs to be pulled out further to give access to the prop cage.

Bodget and Son (Mike Baker and Nigel Knowles) helped by Don Barnet, Graham Thompson, and John Botterill, had a very long hard day from 10:00 to 21:00. Fortunately Aquarius is available for Sunday.
