28Apr2001 Mid-Thames Trophy

The Mid-Thames Trophy inter club trophy event involving Desborough SC, Littleton SC, Staines SC, Laleham SC, Hampton SC and Aquarius SC will take place at Littleton SC (Map)on Sunday 6th May. NOTE Last minute change from Desborough SC due to river conditions. Littleton is a gravel pit, near Shepperton visable from the M3, so take the opportunity to start sailing at last without any current.

Littleton SC open from 9:00. First race 11:00. There is no entrance fee.

The handicap adjustment for a 2-man dinghy being sailed single-handed will be minus 42 (relative to AQSC handicaps equivalent to 4.2). Club numbers will be used for British moths, Lasers and GP 14s.

The maximum number of entries per club per race will be 15. The actual number of entrants to count towards the trophy, 3, 4 or 5 will be determined by the minimum number of entrants by any one club. This will be stated during each pre-race brief.

In the event that any club cannot enter the minimum number of craft required to challenge for the MTT (3) they are still invited to race for individual honours.

The meeting should be a three race series but may be fewer if necessary. All races to count towards the trophy. The trophy will be for the winning club. The points from the leading craft from each club will be totalled after each race with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 to count. The results from each race will be totalled to find the trophy winner.

In addition to the trophy a small prize will be awarded to best overall helm and best overall cadet - best two results to count.

The Mid-Thames Trophy is an inter-club event; it is not team racing but a fun event and a social get together.

Due to the last minute change of venue there may be changes to the above.
