Normally the Cundy Trophy long distance race is held when there are good conditions with an East wind concurrent with the 15:30 race.
Conditions were ideal with a 6 to 12 mph steady East wind, but the 15:30 event was 2 short Sprint races so the Cundy Trophy race was allocated to the 14:00 event in place of the TFC event.
The up stream mark was dropped ahead of the lead boat 20 minutes into the race at Rivermead Island at Sunbury. Mike Baker was 1st on PH so won the Cundy Trophy, Dane Halling was first on BH.
It was a very enjoyable race.
